We want to help businesses STAY in the Fairbanks North Star Borough, MAKE products and provide services that are beneficial to the community, and GROW into successful companies that will create jobs and opportunities for residents.
The Business Retention & Expansion program uses information from the State of Alaska, the City of Fairbanks and the Made in Alaska program to generate its business database. The database is divided into industry category, filtered for duplicates and license holders without a physical presence in the Borough and includes multiplier information from FEDC's economic model. The BR&E Database is available for download.

The BR&E program uses the business database to identify and track businesses in the FNSB. Using a survey instrument, the BR&E program interviews the owners or chief operators of these businesses and uses the responses to inform policy decisions and make changes to the offerings of Development Organizations in the Borough.
